Biographical Info:
Mike Garcia is a first-generation citizen who was born in Granada Hills and raised in Santa Clarita. Mike graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in the top 3% of his class and went on to serve our country as a Navy Strike Fighter Pilot, flying in over 30 combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After nearly two decades of service, Mike returned home to Santa Clarita to start a new chapter as the father of his two sons and as a local businessman responsible for the creation of hundreds of jobs in his community. After a life dedicated to serving our country and our community, Mike Garcia once again answered the call to service when he was elected to Congress in 2020. In Congress, Mike serves on both the Appropriations and Science, Space, and Technology House committees and is a co-chair of the China Accountability Task Force. His new mission is to combat rising inflation, put a stop to record crime, and protect the livelihoods of California families. Garcia is proud to call Santa Clarita home with his wife and two sons.
Statement:
I am running because I have committed my life to serving American families. I’m not a politician. I’m a former Navy fighter pilot, and I’m continuing my mission of service in Congress. As a first generation American, I have lived the American Dream, and I want to ensure that every California family has the same opportunities to thrive. Skyrocketing inflation, outrageous gas prices, and a record crime surge – Biden and Pelosi are crushing hardworking Americans. I’m fighting to stand up to their failed agenda, get our economy back on track so local families can prosper, and keep our neighborhoods and nation safe.
